VR technologies are already showing their potential in healthcare. But developing an effective solution is only part of the journey. What happens when it is time to enter the market?
On 18 September at 11:00 CET, join us for a free 45-minute online webinar bringing together the people behind the latest VR Health Champions Market Access Landscape Report and VR health SMEs experiencing these challenges first-hand.
The recently published Market Access Landscape Report – How to Navigate European Market Access for VR Health Technologies explores why promising VR health solutions still struggle to reach European healthcare systems. Developed within the VR Health Champions project, the report examines market access pathways across eight European countries: Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Estonia, Portugal, the Netherlands and Sweden. It looks at the issues that can determine whether and how a VR health solution enters a market, including reimbursement, evidence requirements, regulatory classification, procurement and differences between national healthcare systems.
The report was created with a practical purpose: to help start-ups and SMEs better understand the European market access landscape, anticipate evidence requirements, reduce uncertainty and make more informed decisions about where and how to bring their solutions to market.
But what do these findings mean in practice?
On 18 September, András Perényi from Syreon Research Institute and Cristiana Costa from Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) will take us through the report’s key findings and discuss what they mean for companies planning market entry and international expansion. They will be joined by Maciej Stanuch from MedApp S.A. and Cornel Amariei from dotLumen, bringing the perspective of SMEs that are navigating these challenges themselves.
The discussion will be moderated by Michael Barngrover from XR4Europe.
What will we talk about?
Together, we will explore:
- Why promising VR health technologies still struggle to reach European healthcare systems, and where the biggest market access barriers lie.
- How companies can navigate different European markets, from reimbursement pathways and evidence requirements to choosing where and when to enter.
- What the report’s findings mean in practice for SMEs, with MedApp and dotLumen sharing their own experience of bringing innovative solutions to healthcare markets.
This is not just a presentation of the report. It is a chance to hear directly from the people behind the research, compare their findings with the experience of VR health SMEs and discuss what it really takes to turn promising VR health technologies into solutions that can actually reach European patients.
Who should join?
The webinar is for VR/XR SMEs, healthcare innovators, researchers, investors, ecosystem partners, policymakers and digital health stakeholders interested in market access and the adoption of innovative health technologies in Europe.
If VR works, why isn’t it reaching patients?
