Łódzkie, centrally located at the intersection of major highways, is a key industrial and academic hub with Łódź as its capital. Its strong economy, technological development, Special Economic Zone, and infrastructure make it attractive to investors. Poland is an Emerging Innovator, performing at 65.9% of the EU average in 2024—above the group average of 48%—with growth exceeding the EU average (+10%). National strengths include a high number of design applications, a well-educated population, and strong ICT training in enterprises. Recent gains include rising innovation-related employment and increased government support for business R&D (source: European Innovation Scoreboard 2024, Country Profile, Poland).

In Łódzkie region in Poland VR Health Champions together with its partners Medical University of Łodz (MUŁ), Lodz University of Technology (TUL), Metaskills and RTE LAB drive technological advancements in VR/AR healthcare solutions by fostering collaboration between start-ups, researchers, and industry leaders by promoting innovative use of informatics in telemedicine and personalised medicine, use of IT in medicine, production of equipment for telemedicine, production of IT equipment for medical applications, innovative solutions within the realm of information technology applicable to healthcare systems and solutions for process innovation and organisational innovations in health care management, including in the area of transfer of products and services to clinical practice. 

Partners and enablers in the region in this project: 

Medical University of Łodz (MUŁ), a public medical university specialising in medical education, research, and healthcare. 

Lodz University of Technology (TUL), a public technical university focusing on engineering and technology education and research. 

 

Active contributors to the VR Health Champions project: 

Metaskills, a Polish start-up located in Olsztyn, is a system focused on developing soft skills for managers using VR & GenAI. As part of the VR Champions project, it provides training for healthcare professionals, including management skills for leaders and feedback skills for better patient communication. The platform offers real-time interactions with 3D avatars, simulating authentic conversations and providing instant feedback, much like a session with a professional coach. 

RTE LAB, a private company in Częstochowa, specialising in research, technology, and engineering solutions, with a focus on healthcare technologies.
